With online shopping on the rise when it comes to African stores and sellers, I am glad that most of these have adopted the Thanksgiving tradition of having Black Friday sales. If you have noticed, this year many providers have jumped on the bandwagon. As a frequent buyer - of stuff mostly which I am not in desperate need of - I am actually pleased with the fact that I get to "give back" through sales. Read through to the end & see how you can get a further discount off your orders tomorrow.
I was contacted by the Jumia Market team to experience the service and share my thoughts if any. The team has been running a Black Friday campaign which started on 21st November and comes to an end tomorrow on 25th which is your last chance to get discounts up to 70%. My initial worry was with the quality of the products I would be getting as I am not there to actually fit and feel the product, but I am actually glad with my purchases.
// The Low Down
I won't lie, the site is overwhelming - as are many online stores. There is a whole load of stuff to go through and many suppliers. But thankfully after rummaging through the site, I found some great suppliers. If you are interested in Women's Fashion I got a great skirt from this supplier
Once you have added all items to the cart, you pop your delivery details and selected the payment terms and done. A text message will be sent to your phone as a confirmation.
In all honesty, I expected my delivery to come through possibly by the end of the week. Mind you, my order was placed on Monday 21st. Nope, on Tuesday 22nd, I got a text that my order had been dispatched, followed by a phone call with the delivery guy asking where exactly I was. Again, totally impressed.
If you follow me on Snapchat..cough cough aboutseptember...go follow, I documented the whole process there as well as the goodies I purchased. I am actually impressed with the skirt I got for only Tsh 2,000 + delivery charges which caame to Tsh 5,000 .... and earphones - yet to be tested - for Tsh 15,000...score!!
// The Down Side
I would have wanted my products to come in the Jumia packaging, you know like the asos deliveries that come through. Hopefully the company can think about that for the near future.
Nonetheless, kudos Jumia Market on an efficient campaign, I am happy to have worked with the team there. Now the good stuff for my readers, in case you would like to join in on the Black Friday madness tomorrow and get ridiculous sales, use the code BLACK to get an additional Tsh 5,000 discount off your cart, remember that is in addition to the 70% off. Yes, thank me later!
Hope you are all good and feeling thankful, Happy Shopping :)
